Aunai is a Portuguese word that means "unite completely". This album is a collaboration between three artists from different cultural backgrounds. Mito Elias (Cape Verde), Ashley J Higgs (Naarm) and Abe Dunovits (Argentina) have got together to create this recording of free improvised music. They bring along their respective influences in their practice. At the heart of it all is improvisation and free expression. This recording documents a particular time and space where these three minds collide and unite in sound using organic found instruments, percussion and electronics played with abandon and passion, signalling a "tabula rasa" in their combined space of sound making.
